1. Choosing the right location

The right location is the first priority for storing construction materials. Exposing the steel bars to heat, rain, humidity, etc., increases the chance of rust and corrosion. When they are stored outside at the construction site, they are exposed to frequent temperature and weather changes. This causes the material to contract/expand with time. 

So, they must be stored in a dry area away from direct exposure to sunlight. Also, TMT bars must not be stored in areas near water bodies and those vulnerable to moisture. Storing outdoors may also expose the Thermo mechanically treated bars to contaminants and dirt, which may impact the strength of the bars. So, the storage area must be free of chemicals and contaminants. 

Experts advise placing TMT bars above the wooden pellets to help pull them up above the soil and ground. This helps prevent rusting due to moisture from the ground.
